Sample Saturday: Dr. Dennis Gross

I may not be hitting the later years of life yet but the worry of aging becomes more of an issue as the years roll by (finding the odd grey hair here and there has been a strange experience). There's an amass of anti-aging products on the market and it seems there are plenty of women trying to roll back the years through a lotion or potion.

And here's another one for you. The Dr Dennis Gross face peel is one of their most famous products and some swear by it and its results. This is the claim:

"A two-step anti-aging facial peel that reduces fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, fights blemishes and helps with dark spots and redness. Dr. Gross' research shows this #1 selling at-home facial peel delivers instant and lasting benefits, including a smoother, brighter, more youthful and clearer complexion. Alpha Beta® Daily Face Peel is the only peel on the market to combine 5 Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids PLUS Retinol, Ubiquinone, Resveratrol and a host of antioxidants, vitamins and soothing botanicals."

It all sounds a little scary, really. These acids and peels sound painful. But the treatment itself couldn't be any gentler. Step one and two are both little pads covered in products which should be massaged onto the face and neck in circular motions, two minutes apart. You don't wash off the product but apply make up as usual after.

Step 1: there's a present scent but it's nothing too pungent. The pad smooths over skin easily and you can feel the tiny grains working their magic. My skin did feel irritated around the cheeks but it wore off quickly and left no lasting damage.

Step 2: This is more of a moisturising and nourishing pad. It smooths over easily and leaves skin feeling amazingly soft and smooth.

I popped my makeup on about 5 mins after using this and it all sat perfectly. The peel has left my skin feeling really smooth and nourished and it's baby soft to touch. It's always difficult to judge a product from one use but I'd say I'm on to a winner here. My skin feels lovely, even hours later and it's a really easy and effective treatment.
